Coolangatta

Coolangatta

About 30 minutes drive south from Surfers Paradise, Coolangatta is a holiday town that caters to everyone from families to surfies.

Surf Lifesavers patrol the beach every day of the year, from 8:00 AM to 5:00PM.

Coolangatta Beach

An esplanade shoulders the beach, with a children's playground a handy feature for families.

The surfing at Coolangatta is good for intermediate level surfers. From mid to high tides, the swell is smaller which makes it very popular with Malibu riders. At low tides the swell increases in power.

Coolangatta - Relaxing on the Beach

Fishing is also popular at Coolangatta, with Dart and Bream commonly caught around the rocks at high tide. Fishing off the beach will require a long beach fishing rod to cast out into the rip.
