Maroochydore

Maroochydore Beach

(Includes Pacific Paradise, Alexandra Headland, Mooloolaba and Bli Bli)

Maroochydore is a smaller version of Surfers Paradise that is a little more laid back and relaxed than it's big brother. High rise flats and units mingle with 1950s style housing virtually the entire length of the coast, supporting a population of approximately 18000.

Maroochydore Beach - Great SurfingThe beach is good for surfing, with breaks on the sandy bottom all year around. The banks shift in rough weather, so don't expect the same conditions on two consecutive trips. Public toilets, showers, shops and public telephone booths service the beach. There is also a dog exercise area, however your best friend needs to be kept on a leash.

Maroochydore is a good fishing location. Bream, Dart, Whiting and Flathead can be caught at all times.

Every year in April, the Mooloolaba Triathalon Festival is held on the beach.

A market operates every Sunday morning at the corner of Fishermans Rd and David Low Way from 6:30AM to midday.

Every Friday and Saturday at Nostalgia Town, in Pacific Paradise, an arts and crafts market sells fresh fruit and vegetables, clothing, and other nick-nacks.
