Beach information in Queensland Australia
Queensland Beaches of Australia

Burleigh Heads

Burleigh Heads is the southernmost beach in Queensland, and it has built a reputation as one of the finest surfing beaches in the state. The bottom is all sand, and the southeasterly breezes provide a long and barrelling right-hander. The volume of water that pushes into the bay from the southeast can be mighty, so good surfing prowess is recommended on windy days.

Surf Lifesavers patrol the beach every day of the year, from 8:00 AM to 5:00PM.

Burleigh Heads

A short climb up the cliff at the Burleigh Heads National Park offers a stunning view of the beach and coastline that extends to the north.

A backdrop of Norfolk Island Pines makes an ideal place to hide from the sun and enjoy lunch with the cool breeze sweeping along the beach.
